Display Name
The business name shown to customers in WhatsApp conversations, which must be approved by Meta and match your official business identity.
How it works
Your display name is what customers see when they receive messages from your WhatsApp Business number. Unlike the free WhatsApp Business App where you can set any name, the API requires your display name to be approved by Meta. The name must match your business's legal or commonly known name and follow Meta's naming guidelines, no generic descriptions, all-caps, or misleading names. Once approved, the display name appears in the chat header and message notifications. Businesses with the green tick verification show their display name instead of the phone number even before the customer saves the contact. You can request a display name change through your BSP or Meta Business Suite, but changes require re-approval.
