Verified Badge
A visual indicator in WhatsApp that confirms a business has been verified by Meta, building trust with message recipients.
How it works
The verified badge system on WhatsApp has two tiers. The basic verification (gray checkmark) confirms that the business has completed Meta's Business Verification process, which involves submitting legal documents to prove the business is legitimate. The advanced verification (green tick) is the Official Business Account status reserved for notable brands. Both verification levels help combat impersonation and phishing. For the basic business verification, you need to provide business registration documents, and Meta typically completes review within a few days. Business verification is a prerequisite for higher messaging limits and is required before applying for the green tick.
